Alison Sansome Board member (lay) Alison’s current non-executive portfolio focuses on continuous improvement, high quality customer service and good regulation. It includes Non-executive Board roles at: the Office of the Public Guardian, the Fire Standards Board and the General Optical Council, as well as independent regulatory roles at the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, and the Phone-paid Services Authority. Alison was formerly the Chief Operating Officer (COO) at the Nursing and Midwifery Council, with responsibility for all operational and corporate business delivery aspects of the organisation. Previously as Senior Programme Director at Hewlett Packard, Alison led delivery of significant IT systems to enhance operational performance. Prior to that as a Senior Civil Servant and Board member in an MOD Agency, she led delivery of a technology enabled major transformation programme, and subsequently led highly sensitive operational delivery of services to support injured military personnel and bereaved families. Alison is also a Non-Legal Member of the Employment Tribunal (E&W) and provides regular support/training on coaching, as part of a Leadership Development Programme at the Council of Deans for Health.
